Health Care Specialist needed in Salt Lake City, UTAH Army Reserve Unit
Job Description: Primarily responsible for providing emergency medical treatment, limited primary care and health protection and evaluation from a point of injury or illness. Some of your duties as a Health Care Specialist may include: -Administering emergency medical treatment -Assisting with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment -Interviewing patients and recording their medical histories -Taking patients' temperature, pulse and blood pressure -Preparing blood samples for laboratory analysis -Keeping health records and clinical files up-to-date -Giving shots and medicines to patients -Preparing patients, operating rooms,equipment and supplies for surgery Training: Job training consists of 10weeks of basic training and 7-52 weeks of advanced individual training, including practice in patient care. Training is spent in a classroom and field environment. Helpful Skills include: -An interest in helping and caring for others -An ability to communicate effectively -An ability to work under stressful conditions -An interest in chemistry, biology, psychology, general science and algebra -Attention to detail Career Progression With continued study and experience, you may qualify for certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians or specialized training such as: Orthopedics Sterilizing surgical equipment Patient care techniques All volunteer applicants for the Army Reserves must pass the Armed Services Vocational Apptitude Battery and medical prescreen that determines whether you qualify for this occupation.

Nutrition Care Specialist needed in Salt Lake City Army Reserve Unit
Job Description: The Nutrition Care Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting in the supervision of medical nutrition care operations. Some of your duties may include: -Performing basic clinical dietetic functions in the dietary management and treatment of patients -Preparing, cooking and serving modified and regular food items according to nutrition care treatment plans under the supervision of a dietitian or noncommissioned officer -Ordering, receiving and inspecting meat,fish,fruit and vegetables -Preparing statndard cuts of meat using cleavers, knives and bandsaws -cooking steaks, chops, and roasts -baking or frying chicken, turkey and fish -Preparing gravies and sauces -Baking breads, cakes, pies and pasteries -Serving food in dining halls, hospitals or field kitchens Training consists of 10 weeks of basic training and a nine week course of advance individual training in which you will learn the following: -standard and dietetic menues and recipes -preparation and cooking of various foodstuffs and bakery products -food and supply ordering -storage of meats, poultry and other perishable items Helpful skills: -An interest in home economics, health, mathematics, accounting and chemistry -An interest in cooking -An interest in working with one's hands All volunteer applicants for the Army Reserves must pass the Armed Services Vocational Apptitude Battery and medical prescreen that determines whether you qualify for this occupation.

Pharmacy Specialist needed in Salt Lake City, UTAH Army Reserve Unit
Job Description: The pharmacy specialist is primarily responsible for preparing, controlling and issuing pharmaceutical products and supervising pharmacy activities. In addition to assisting a Pharmacy Officer, some of your duties as a Pharmacy Specialist include: -Reading Physician prescriptions to determine the types and amount of drugs to prepare -Weighing and measuring drugs and chemicals -Mixing ingredients in order to produce prescription medications -Checking for completeness and correctness in prescriptions for common interactions, incompatibilities and availability -Referring questionable orders for questions to supervisors -Evaluating completed orders to ensure the integrity of the final product -Providing information regarding availability, strength and composition of medications to physicians or pharmacists -Delivering unit doses, sterile products, bulk drug and controlled drug orders -Performing quality control checks on medications Training: Consists of 10 weeks of basic training and 12-17 weeks of advanced individual training, including the practice in pharmaceutical tasks. Dental Specialist needed in Salt Lake City, UTAH Army Reserve Unit
Job Description: The Dental Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting Army dentists in the examination and treatment of patients, while also helping to manage dental offices. Some of your duties as a Dental Specialist may include: -Helping dentists perform oral surgery -Preparing for patient examinations by selecting and arranging instruments and medications -Assisting with the administration of anesthesia -Performing maintenance on dental equipment -Operating resuscitative equipment -Loading and unloading radiographic film cassettes -Helping dentists during examinations by preparing dental compounds and operating dental equipment -Cleaning patients' teeth using scaling and polishing instruments and equipment -Operating dental X-ray equipment -Processing X-rays of patients' teeth, gums and jaws -Providing guidance to patients on daily care of their teeth -Performing administrative duties, such as scheduling office visits, keeping patient records and ordering dental supplies Training: Job training for a Dental Specialist consists of ten weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and nine to 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, including practice in dental care tasks. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.
